“Greetings!  I am so exited to serve as President for the North Carolina Association of Nursing Students.  I am originally from Rocky Mount, NC.  I attended Nash Community College and graduated in May of 2011,  I am an MIU Nurse at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and I can wait to assist the Nursing Students of North Carolina with the transition from student nurse to Registered Nurse.   Please if you have any questions about convention, membership to NCANS, running for office or even questions about nursing school, I would be more than happy to assist you in any way possible.  Feel free to contact me at the email address below or look me up on Facebook.  Please remember to get plugged in through Facebook by joining our North Carolina Association of Nursing Students Group!  Can’t wait to hit the ground running on this upcoming school year.  I wish all of you the best of luck on each nursing test and every milestone of your nursing school journey.

Chasity H. Godwin, Vice President

VICE PRESIDENT

Hi, I am Chasity Godwin and I am currently a senior nursing major at Barton College, home of the Bulldogs! Words cannot even express how excited I am to be in this position as Vice President! I am currently the President of Barton College’s local chapter and expanding my horizons and networking at the state level is such an amazing opportunity. As Vice-President, my plan and overall goal for my time in office includes raising awareness of NCANS and expanding student membership across the state. I also hope to enhance recognition of our state chapter on a national level and to promote professional nursing and the importance of becoming involved. I know that this will be an arduous task, but I am passionate about what I do and the career of nursing. My duties as Vice-President also include serving as a liaison between the board members and providing support to them if needed. Upon graduation, my plans are to work for a few years in a critical care setting and then eventually to further my career as a Nurse Practitioner. I believe that nurses are an integral part of the health care system, and a holistic nursing approach makes all the difference in the world. Again, I am incredibly excited to serve North Carolina and my hopes are that awareness will be raised across the state along with an increased yearning for joining the nursing profession. It is my honor to serve you and please feel free to contact me via email.
