District I
Bethany French, District I Director - I attend Gardner-Webb University. While in office I want to effectively promote NCANS throughout District I, and encourage more involvement from my own college’s chapter and other chapters in District I. I want to ensure that the GWU School of Nursing and all other SON in my district are informed and become involved in all that NCANS has to offer. I plan to graduate this year with my ADN degree, and then complete my BSN degree in nursing the following year. I want to take advantage of all the opportunities my nursing career has to offer and specialize in my passion area of nursing or possibly become an NP. I also plan to take part in medical missions throughout my nursing career. I went into nursing because I have a fascination for the intricate inter-workings of the human body. My first anatomy and physiology class just made me even more interested in becoming a nurse. I was also attracted to nursing because it is a helping profession. Having the knowledge to provide competent care to patients in need and being able to share some warmth and comfort with them during their stay in the hospital is such a gratifying experience. Having those opportunities is one of the reasons why I love nursing. Besides nursing I love drawing, painting, taking pictures, kickboxing, listening to music and being creative.

Felice Carlton, District III Director |
I am currently a senior in nursing school at UNC-Chapel Hill. One of my main goals while in office includes trying to reach out to schools that have typically been underrepresented in NCANS in the past. I also hope this will help us to gain a broader perspective from nursing students at the state-level. My future career goals are focused around providing care, and education, to patients living in areas that are considered to be medically underserved. I am very interested in health promotion, disease prevention, and working in primary care. In the future I plan to further my education by obtaining an advanced degree that will allow me to provide care in a family medicine setting. I chose to pursue a degree in nursing because I have always been interested health care. I love the flexibility of the nursing profession, and I also love how this profession allows opportunity for one to advance themselves in health care. My personal hobbies include spending time with my friends and family, traveling, shopping, and exercising. |

Ann R. Hoskins, District IV Director |
As the District IV Director, I plan to encourage more participation in the local and state level student nursing associations. We all get so excited and so focused on what we do daily and weekly in nursing school and miss out on the opportunities that professional nursing associations provide, like seminars, professional contacts and networking, and the support you get from other people in your field who understand the challenges that you face each day. I am a second-level nursing student at Johnston Community College. When I graduate in May, I hope to work in an Oncology or Cardiac Care unit. I am considering continuing my education later on so that I can become an instructor in a nursing program. Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have. |
